Just a few weeks ago we had the privilege of hosting a lovely couple from Boston. This was not their first tour to Napa but it was their very first tour with us and this time around their trip was more intentional. Mr. and Mrs. Joy (Not their real surname) came to us on recommendation of a mutual friend and wanted to have a multi-day wine tour. The primary reason of their visit was celebratory having reached 30 years of blissful marriage. Their secondary agenda item had more nuances and it was in the context of this agenda item that we had the opportunity to point Mr. & Mrs. Joy in the right direction.
For three days our guests wanted to focus on securing several cases of wine to add to their private cellar and use as gifts throughout the year. Specifically, our guests wanted to be ready to be gracious, giving & unique at home, while attending dinner parties hosted by friends and family, as well as in their summer home in the Hamptons.
Our concierge was up to the challenge and we made it our goal to include exclusive wineries often featuring very limited production and mainly selling their wine direct to consumers via their wine club membership, allocation or only at the winery. By taking this approach we ensured Mr. & Mrs. Joy would have the opportunity to gift their friends with gorgeous thoughtful wines that were not run of the mill.
Our team of concierges met and together we came up with a list of wineries that simply fit the bill. If you are coming to Napa and part of your plan includes purchasing wine for gifts these wineries are definitively worth considering:
6. Fontanella
7. Define Wines
9. Failla Wines
We love hosting multi-day wine purchasing tours and we can help you coordinate delivery to your door in partnership with specific wineries or by reaching out to one of our shipping partners. Finally, if you are here for a single day tour and want to amplify your buying reach we love to make Vintners Collective you last stop for the day.
Prost!
